Partnerships
Putting the project within the context of community collaboration, Brighton and Hove FareShare is represented on the Meaningful Occupation sub-group of the Single Homeless Strategy. This group is looking at ways to develop improved access to training and employment for homeless people. There are further opportunities here to develop links between local employers, social enterprises, training providers and homless agencies.
We collaborate with other networks such as Engage (the Brighton and Hove Churches Community Development Asscocation), Equal (supporting adults into training and employment). We work along side Business Action on Homelessness and the Careers Development Group to provide work placement oppotunities to the long term unemployed.
In addition FareShare has been actively involved with Sussex Probation Service as a Placment Provider for the Enhanced Community Punishment Scheme (ECPS). To date we have had 10 people through ECPS doing around 240 hours each. We provide a positive working environment encouraging Teamwork, Responcibility and Interpersonal Skills. We endevour to provide everybody on the ECPS with on the job training along side other volunteers and staff.
